The IX Coloproctological Symposium was held in Germany to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the Center of Coloproctology in Dusseldorf. Twenty-two leading international colorectal surgeons came as honorary guest speakers from the USA, Europe, and Asia.

The meeting honoured Professor Herand Abcarian, Past President of The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Professor Maher A. Abbas was the only representative from the United Arab Emirates, Gulf Countries, and Arab World. Dr. Abbas moderated the session on Rectal Prolapse and delivered 2 lectures on the topics of Surgical Therapy of Abdominal Crohn’s Disease and Current Surgical Concepts for Rectal Prolapse.
