The ostomy awareness day is an annual event to support, educate, and raise awareness about stoma care.  Some patients with gastrointestinal conditions require the surgical placement of a stoma either on a temporary or permanent basis.  Patients with stoma require specialized care by enterostomal nurses and surgeons.  Dr. Maher A. Abbas joined the nursing team at Al-Zahra Hospital Dubai to share and educate nurses on this important day.
