Professor Abbas was invited as a speaker to the Philippine College of Surgeons 80th Annual Clinical Congress. Professor Abbas gave a talk on minimally invasive surgery pearls for the young surgeons in the session on preparing the next generations of surgeons in colorectal minimally invasive surgery. In addition, he served as a panelist for 3 additional sessions on collaborative strategies in rectal cancer management: bridging disciplines for optimal outcomes and emergency colorectal surgery: best practices and emerging trends. The sessions were sponsored by the Philippine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Professor Abbas is an honorary fellow of the Philippine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Within the program of the Philippine College of Surgeons Congress, Professor Abbas delivered a talk on management of presacral bleeding: tips and tricks.
