Dr. Maher A. Abbas summits Mount Elbrus

August 21, 2021 | Mount Elbrus, Russia |

Dr. Maher A. Abbas climbed and summited Mount Elbrus.  Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain peak in the European continent as it stands at 5,642 meters.  It is one of the seven summits of the world.   An international team of mountaineers was led by Mostafa Salameh, a leader in high altitude mountaineering.  Harsh weather condition with temperature of minus 17 degrees Celsius rendered summitting day particularly challenging.  Team spirit and support was essential for safe summitting.
